JOB VACANCY : COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR di AFJ

Animal Friends Jogja is looking for an experienced Communications Coordinator for the Farmed Animals Advocacy Program, who will be in charge of representing the organization across social channels as the sole voice of the brand in the digital world. The Communications Coordinator will provide AFJ with the guidance needed to enhance our online presence and reach the maximum potential audience for educational purposes. S/he/they will compile campaign data and media, create content, and respond to comments and reactions as well as work closely with all departments on the program.

Job Requirements:

  • Be passionate about animal welfare issues. 

  • Two years experience in social media advocacy or a closely related field.

  • Display in-depth knowledge and understanding of the different usage of social media platforms.

  • Understand the latest trends on social channels.

  • Have excellent communication skills.

  • Have exceptional copywriting and/or content writing skills.

  • Ability in public speaking and willingness to speak and present with passion on Farmed Animal Welfare issues.

  • Ability to communicate ideas and concepts to the creative team and give constructive and mission-driven feedback.

  • Be able to switch between the creative and analytical aspects of the job.

  • Proactively support other divisions’ work in order to reach the same goals.

  • Have excellent time and task management skills.

  • Be able to use apps such as Canva to backup graphic designers work.

  • Experience running ads through social media (a plus).

  • Willingness to travel when required for conferences, public/ government/ academic/ producer outreach, campaign events.

  • Be able to work in close proximity to animals in non-air conditioned spaces.

  • Support the Animal Friends Jogja Farmed Animal Welfare philosophy and have the ability to professionally advocate AFJ Farmed Animal positions.

 Duties and responsibilities:

  • Manage the community on AFJ Farmed Animal's social media platforms.

  • Make a monthly EP (editorial Plan) for social media and blog posts.

  • Create and manage content for Animal Friends Jogja Farmed Animals social channels, specifically Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram and coordinate Youtube content.

  • Coordinate the sourcing of content for posts from all program divisions.

  • Research value-aligned organizations, and amplify their content on  AFJ Farmed Animal social channels.

  • Keep abreast of the latest social media trends, including hashtags, memes, and viral campaigns.

  • Stay apprised of local, national, and international news stories relating to AFJ's mission.

  • Steward relationships with celebrities, social media influencers, aligned organizations, and farmers through engagement on social media.

  • Track analytics across AFJ Farmed Animal social platforms and blogs.

  • Create and publish a monthly newsletter for AFJ supporters and/or volunteers.

  • Represent AFJ with passion on Farmed Animal Welfare issues during media interviews when needed.

  • Travel as necessary to produce and launch content, work events, and attend social media industry conferences.

  • Coordinate content and create press releases and press conferences as required.

  • Help manage relationships with and complete tasks for other departments.

  • Perform any other duties assigned by the team leader. 

  • Collect and collate data to create reports on quantifiable outcomes and achievements.
